How can we shorten the time limits in regard to a customer reporting a problem in for Reg E? Our card agreement requires provisional credit in five business days, so we want the customer to be forced to notify us sooner.

Answer:

You can't. Reg. E implements the Electronic Fund Transfer Act, "Act" being the operative word. It is a law and Congress would have to make the change. You can't reduce the rights granted to the consumer even if you build that into your agreement.
