Can a convicted felon, convicted of a non-banking crime, work for a FDIC insured bank or for a bank in the state of Georgia?

I read some comments regarding bait money on the BOL web site. I agree with the logic, but I have another question. It was stated that we should replace one security measure with another (for example, trade the bait money for better cameras). Are there any statistics on how helpful the other measures are in preventing bank robbers or in catching them? Do you know where I can get such statistics?

Are there any regulations which require employee background checks and bonding? If so, what are the requirements? If there are no requirements, are there any "best practices" for smaller community banks?

If a business brings in a cash deposit to our bank and we find counterfeit money in the deposit, they must take the loss, correct?

I recall being told that if an employer designates a particular place for it's employees to park, that the employer is responsible for the employee's safety to and from the bank to the parking lot.My employer says that their responsibility is only during the time that the employee is "clocked in" for work. So if an employee gets hit by a car on the way to the parking lot, after they have clocked out for the day, then the employer is not responsible. What is the bank's liability?

Should vault cash be in dual custody? Also, what is your opinion on cash drawer sharing?

Dana Turner had mentioned in MN that many in the security field are suggesting we do away with bait money, bill traps etc... entirely. I understand the reasoning behind it, but what would you suggest as an alternative?

Is there a statute or regulation that still specifically requires us to stock teller drawers with bait money, or is entirely optional?

We are in a small town. Recently a policeman came in asking if we had had any large amounts of coins coming in. He said there had been a burglary in the area. My question is how much information can we give, without a subpoena or such device? Can we say that there had been but give no name? If the person bringing it in was not a customer would this make a difference. The customer that was robbed is a customer so I would like to see the person found, but with all the new Regs I am not sure what I can and can't do.

Our bank has a "Mortgage Bank" that is housed in a building separate from other bank operations. They do not accept deposits or handle cash. Under the Bank Protection Act, is this building required to have security devices such as cameras, alarms, etc.?
