There was a $134,611 check made payable to two companies from one of our customers. One company does not bank with us. They took the check to their bank without the other company endorsing it, and that bank paid the check. How long do we have to return the item that was improperly endorsed and paid?

Our DDA statements state that if the customer does not dispute the information within 10 days of receiving it, it is considered correct. We have a customer that claims a girl friend forged his name to checks going back to January 2005. Are we obligated to reimburse him for this money?

Question: We got a check back, through the work, that has a stamp on it marked "Other" and written on the face of the check were the words "forged endorsement".

We have a business customer that has had its account number stolen. The individual who stole the number along with the ABA and Bank name changed the check face from a business check to a personal check. Which affidavit do I use to return these items to the bank in which these checks were deposited?

We had a customer submit a claim for $3,500 in forged checks. The drive-up tellers saw our customer in a car with the forger on many occasions during the time these were presented. The forger also lived with our customer for a period of time. The checks claimed are not sequential so he may have been taking a check here and a check there, if they were actually stolen. Our customer is in jail now for an unrelated matter. The forger stole his car and was arrested in another state. Would this apparent relationship provide reasons to deny any claims of the forgery?

I'm looking for security training ideas. I want to make security training fun so the staff will remember what they've learned. Any suggestions?

A former employee with access to corporate establishment documents uses them to open a corporate account with him/herself as an authorized signer. The true corporate officer discovers the account has been opened after checks made payable to the company are missing. The bank performed as much due diligence as possible in verifying the legitimacy of the corporation and obtained the ID of the authorized signer. Can the "true" corporate officer collect lost money from the bank or must they pursue legal action against the former employee?
