We have received a state tax levy (over $5,000) for a company that was dissolved in 2008. However, the president of this company is a current director at the bank. Should we file a SAR for this?

I'm looking for guidance on filing SARs and/or reporting activity on lottery accounts owned by businesses that aren't exclusively lottery outlets. If a SAR is filed, what activity characterization is selected? Do we have an obligation to report the misuse to the lottery commission?

I am unsure what to enter when completing the dollar amount involved on a SAR. Does aggregated total mean the amount deposited and the amount withdrawn as one total? An example is a kiting scheme, would I enter the amount of checks deposited from the other bank or the amount of checks written to the other bank or both?

A customer comes into the bank with a $12,000 on us check. The check is negotiated for $4000 cash and an $8000 cashier's check. Customer holds $8000 cashier's check for a couple of months then returns to the bank to cash it. Based on the amount of the two transactions and the way they were handled, it appears the transactions were structured to avoid CTR filing, so we decide to file a SAR. Would an account number be affected since the original funds were from an account at the bank?
